About Gifted Hands Midwifery

Gifted Hands Midwifery is a Black-owned private midwifery service that works with patients within an hour and a half drive from Loganville, Georgia. Kwajalein (Kay) Cleveland founded the center. Kay has over 14 years of nursing experience. Throughout her time practicing, she has remained devoted to learning, eventually earning her Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery in 2016.

Kay has attended over 200 births and has a long list of certifications, including:

basic life support,
neonatal resuscitation, and
out-of-hospital emergencies.

A team of doulas joins Kay and is there to offer emotional and mental support throughout your pregnancy.

Services

Gifted Hands Midwifery offers unparalleled holistic services to families across Atlanta. The center specializes in evidence-based home and water births for low-risk pregnancies. You’ll receive comprehensive visits lasting 1-1.5 hours throughout your time at the center. During these consultations, you’ll review your birth plan, discuss any concerns, and ensure you feel equipped for labor.

Gifted Hands Midwifery can perform blood and lab work and provide 99.9% accurate gender predictions. Your midwife will discuss birth tub rentals if you decide on a water birth. In the unlikely event that your labor results in a hospital transfer, your midwife will remain by your side, coaching you the entire time. The center provides newborn care and screening. In the weeks following delivery, you’ll have three different postpartum care visits. Hence, Kay can ensure you’re on the path to a quick and healthy recovery!

While Kay is there for all your midwifery needs, the doulas at the center ensure you feel emotionally prepared. From helping you create a comprehensive plan for your delivery to offering different methods for aiding labor, the Gifted Hands doulas will be there every step of the way.
